Barry M Aquarium - Pacific and Mermaid.

Hi everyone!
Sorry it's a late post but I've been looking everywhere for my camera and I just cannot find it. :/
So that means, for the time being, you will have to put up with phone quality pics I'm afraid. :(

Today, I would like to show you two of the new Barry M polishes from their Aquarium collection.
I am showing two because they are the only ones I have bought, as the rest have gold inwined in them and I just don't like it.

Pacific is a lovely duochrome, from sea blue to green. It is almost foil looking, but the shimmer just about saves it! It can show brush strokes and any ridges or dents you may have on your nails so I would use some kind of Ridge Filler just to smooth the surface for this polish.

The shift in this isn't strong, but it is there and you can see it best in natural sunlight.
When applied, it is a little sheer to begin with and my brush had a couple of bristles that were too long, which I didn't realise until I started applying! It bulids up easily and the picture is of two coats. Drying time is good, unless you apply thick coats, it will take a little longer.

Mermaid is a glitter topper with blue, green and gold shards. I know what I just said about gold, and to be honest, I'm still not sure on this but I do like it paired with Pacific. The polish itself is very glitter dense and I didn't have to do any fishing for a specific colour, the shards are small enough to be picked up from the brush alone. As the shards are so small, I didn't have and pieces lifting off my nail, either. Which is a massive bonus! :)

I like that Barry M are keeping on trend with releasing 4 duochromes and 2 shard glitter toppers for this collection, I just think that this particular collection isn't for me. But that's ok, it means there is one on the way that will be!! :D

Thank you for reading!
Take care x

  1. This looks fab on you! I have it too, and I found that if I lifted my hand above eye-level I could catch a really deep blue shift, but you have to get the angle just right to catch it. I'm jealous you only needed 2 coats though, my long nails needed a 3rd one :D xxx
