Talk about a busy week!! I had every intention of posting this review on Monday but I met up with my bestie and had lunch, Tuesday I visited my nans new flat all day, Wednesday I had to run a few errands so today is the first chance I've had to post! Sorry about that :)
As the title suggests, I am reviewing an Indie polish today, from fellow blogger (Imagination in Colour) and Indie maker, Emma at Magic Goose! Unfortunately, she's had to close her shop for a while (boo!) and so she sent me a message asking me to choose a couple of polishes for being a friend and for supporting her shop and polishes! I was so amazed at her kindness, I even offered to pay haha! But she insisted so after a lot of aah-ing and umm-ing I finally chose two beautiful holos from her 'Pure Inspiration' collection.
On the left is a stunning lilac holo called 'Unicorn Dream' and the right is called 'Beautiful Blue Eyes' which I'll be reviewing right now for you. :) Emma doesn't know I was going to review this and it wasn't the reason why she sent them to me, I just couldn't thank her enough for her generosity, so I thought this would make up for it.
Onto the review!
I applied the first coat and was immediately shocked because I pressumed it would be like painting on a foil nail polish or something like Gosh - Holographic Hero, but it applied like it was a 'jelly'. I also found it to be a little thick which made neat application a little tricky and don't paint over the same spot too many times as this will pull the polish off. Leave until first coat is fully dry, this didn't take long at all.
Second coat was easier as I painted with slightly thicker coats and this then made the polish completely opaque but makes drying time a little longer than normal. Easily fixed with a good quick-dry top coat. It's not as dark as a navy blue and it's not as bright as cobolt, it's somewhere in the middle and as soon as I saw it, I even said out loud 'Beautiful!'
The holo is visable in all lighting but it's at it's strongest in natural light. It's not the strongest holo and it's not subtle either, it lays somewhere nicely in the middle. :)
It reminds me of a starry night sky before it's completely dark.
Without flash.
With flash to show you how gorgeous that holo is!
I did apply a topcoat and this did not dull the polish in any way, infact, I felt this made the holographic glitter really pop through the beautiful deep blue.
Overall, I am very happy with this polish and I will be wearing this again!! Definitely worth the tricky application in my eyes! I've been wearing this since Monday, it is now Thursday and it only started chipping today which I think is great.
Thank you again Emma for these amazing polishes, and I can't wait to see you back soon!
